3rd September 2010  We're delighted to have been invited back to St Francis School in Lincoln following on from a very successful course there, run in partnership with Skills for Health.  The morning session from 9.30 until 12.30 has been set aside for children and families whilst the afternoon, 1.00 until 3.30 will allow school staff to learn more about the importance of postural care.

4th and 5th October 2010  John and Liz are looking forward very much to working with the Centre for Continuing Professional Development for Allied Health Professionals in Belfast.  They will be working with over 20 Occupational Therapists who will all be working towards an accredited qualification in the Goldsmith Indices of Body Symmetry.

10th November 2010  John and Liz Goldsmith, originators of the Goldsmith Indices of Body Symmetry are on hand to give you expert guidance in the use of this technique.  Validated back in 1992 in Physiotherapy Journal The Goldsmith Indices provide a non-invasive, reliable and person centred outcome measure for therapeutic interventions.  Throughout the course we use the AMI (Anatomical Measuring Instrument) available through Simple Stuff Works www.simplestuffworks.co.uk

28th March 2011 will see John and Liz Goldsmith working with therapists in Gloucestershire.  Having recently purchased measuring equipment from our very good friends www.simplestuffworks.co.uk therapists are keen to ensure that they are providing adults and children in the area with accurate measures of body symmetry - a great way to know that you're on the right track when protecting body shape.  The Goldsmith Indices have been validated since 1992 and are a very reliable way to give families feedback on how brilliantly they are supporting their kids.

11th and 12th April 2011  We are so proud to support Vision for China and the amazing work that they do for disabled and abandoned children in China.  http://www.visionforchina.com We will be working to support medical professionals including a GP who are returning to China on volunteer programmes later in the year to share knowledge around protection of body shape.  To use inexpensive and common items to make a huge difference to children that already face huge challenges.

We offer direct support to families who would like to know more about postural care, have objective measures of body symmetry taken for their children and wish to develop a person centred postural care profile to share with others.  We use a fabulous hotel who have converted a bedroom and bathroom to be fully accessible and available for us to use.  We will be seeing two families on the 14th April and have one appointment remaining at 10am.  Contact Sarah@posturalcareskills.com if you would like to book this appointment - cost £130 including VAT.
